0x14: ESP-12E breakout board

Background

Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly taking off and interesting new DIY maker modules are gradually becoming available. The popular ESP-12E from AI Thinker is available in various forms, but few breadboard-friendly products exist.

Function

This PCB breaks out the connections to an AI Thinker ESP-12E module for rapid prototyping of IoT systems on a standard breadboard. The spacing between the two pin header rows is 1 inch (1000 mil) equivalent to 25.4 mm, so it occupies some space on a breadboard and also covers a power bus. A decoupling capacitor is included for power stabilisation. Note that the logic level is 3.3 V.
